BLAINE, Wash. - Voters in Blaine will decide this fall whether to change the city's name to Blaine Harbor.
A divided Blaine City Council voted Monday to put the name-change measure on the Nov. 4 ballot.
Supporters say changing the name would attract visitors from Canada to the city, located on the U.S.-Canadian border about 110 miles north of Seattle.
Opponents say it won't draw visitors or help economic development.
The Bellingham Herald reports that (http://is.gd/PWrS6h) voters defeated a similar name-change measure in 2000.
