SEATTLE - KING 5 is the only station to obtain the courtroom tape where a bomber who claimed to be a vampire tells the judge his medication isn't working very well.

He appeared in Judge Anne Harper's courtroom the day before his bomb threat shut down the King County Courthouse.

Charging papers say last Friday, Vladimir Augustine entered the Union Gospel Mission and said he was a vampire with a bomb who wanted to make a meal of everyone there. Just the day before, Vladimir was before a judge, complaining that his medication wasn't working very well.

Superior Court Judge Anne Harper said he looked like he was "doing much better" mental-health-wise than when she saw him the previous week.

"It looks like you're doing much better and I don't want you using any drugs or alcohol or we'll have to do the (mental) evaluation in the King County Jail, you understand that?" she tells him.

"Yes," he replies.

"Alright, you're doing very well. Thank you," Harper says and schedules him to appear before her a week later for further evaluation.

Less than 24 hours later, Augustine was arrested and charged with making a threat with a fake bomb. The threat led to an evacuation at the Union Gospel Mission and a lockdown at the King County Courthouse.

Augustine told police he did it because he needed help. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center, then booked into the King County Jail.

Augustine is homeless and is being held on $150,000 bail.

It cannot be the judges responsibility to make sure that people are healthy and happy and that their medication is working. That is not the job of the judge.

The judge should be removed from the bench. He asked for help and she did not give it. How much money did this cost the city???? PLENTY if someone says their meds are NOT working maybe a judge should get him looked at.
