A University of Washington student has been named one of Facebook's Inaugural Fellows.
Parmit Chilana is a PhD candidate at the UW's Information School, researching human-computer interaction.
Facebook launched the Fellowship program to recognize students who are solving challenges of internet technology and the social web.
Chilana said it is a great honor to receive the Fellowship. She acknowledged her advisors, Professors Andrew Ko and Jacob Wobbrock at the UW Information School, who she is collaborating with.
Facebook Fellows receive paid tuition, a $30,000 stipend, and other benefits.
