SEATTLE - Two people were hurt in a house fire in West Seattle on Tuesday night.

The Seattle Fire Department said the fully involved fire was in the 10000 block of 39th Ave. SW.

It was reported just before 8 p.m.

Fire officials say an elderly couple lives in the home and the wife made it out but the man was still in the house looking for her. A neighbor went to the door and told him to come out. The man suffered smoke inhalation and burns on his head.

The home was a total loss.

Firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring homes.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
