LYNNWOOD, Wash. – Three people were injured after a shotgun went off during an argument and four schools were placed in lockdown Tuesday afternoon.
It happened just before 1:30 p.m. in the 5600 block of 168th Street SW.
Police say a group of people were arguing outside an apartment building. One man left and returned with a shotgun. During a struggle, the gun went off. It wasn’t immediately clear if the gun went off by accident.
Three people were hit with shrapnel and pellets. One person went to the hospital with a leg injury. Two were treated at the scene.
The suspect was taken into custody by police.
As a precaution, the Edmonds School District placed Meadowdale Elementary, Middle and High Schools in lockdown, as well as Beverly Elementary. The lockdowns were lifted about an hour later.
