LACEY, Wash. -- Thurston County detectives arrested two more teens in connection with a string of arsons at a Lacey housing development.
Wednesday afternoon a 13-year-old and a 17-year-old were booked into the county’s juvenile detention center.
Another 13-year-old and two 16-year-old boys arrested Tuesday went before a juvenile court judge Wednesday afternoon.
The youngest was held on $75,000 bail. He has prior convictions for charges including theft of a firearm and harassment. The judge ordered the two 16-year-olds held on $100,000 bail.
Investigators said the five boys broke into nearly completed homes at a construction site over last weekend and Monday night and set fire to five homes.
Police consider the arsons acts of vandalism rather than eco-terrorism.
The mother of one of the boys said she felt bad for the homeowners, but she said she was not apologizing for her son because she said he is innocent.
