Two people were killed in a multi-vehicle crash on State Route 410 in Sumner Friday, causing major problems for the morning commute.
The Washington State Patrol said a pickup truck crossed the jersey barrier near 166th Avenue East and hit a car traveling the opposite way. A fully-loaded gravel truck with two trailers that was behind the car slammed into both vehicles.
The drivers of the pickup and car were pronounced dead at the scene.
One eastbound lane of SR 410 was blocked. Both westbound lanes were also blocked, but drivers were getting by on the shoulder.
WSP is investigating how the pickup crossed the barrier.
