It"s not too too difficult to spot those who dont ride. All too typical really ; folks with the least experience seem to talk the most. I only hope a speedy recovery for the lad...get back up on 2!!

In about 1984 or 85, my brother hit 2 whitetail deer on his light motorcycle (not like a trooper's big bike) while riding to school in the morning. He was going around a corner and they were just suddenly *there*, no time for him to stop or even swerve. He had his school books zipped up inside his leather jacket, and these undoubtedly saved his life. When the handlebar flipped around and hit him, the impact was spread out to some degree. He 'only' suffered broken ribs and a collapsed lung (and bumps, bruises, and road rash). The deer died. My best friend's father was then chief of police. He told me he'd never seen a person survive a motorcycle-deer collision, and often, people don't survive hitting a deer with a car. To survive a 2-deer-motorcycle collision was very nearly a miracle. So...it can happen. Fortunately, such collisions happen less in the Seattle area than in other areas of the state. and motorcyclists are marginally safer on the roads here than in those places.

OH and to the yucksteirs making the jokes...laugh it up fools -- What goes around comes around.....Hitting a dear in a car is nasty stuff, hitting a dear on a scoot is deadly ugly...This troopers intense training and his bike are the only reason we aren't morning another dead officer!

Thank God he's OK, Cop or Kid, Harley or Honda, I hate hearing about any rider going down.

That cop knows better that to use state property for off season deer hunting. although I like his style and his dedication to making it all look like an accident. Ha
