A Washington State Patrol sergeant was hit in the elbow by a passing vehicle driven by a person suspected of driving under the influence.
It happened around 12:35 a.m. Tuesday on eastbound Highway 204 near the Highway 2 trestle in Snohomish County.
Trooper Keith Leary said the passing vehicle hit the sergeant with its passenger side mirror.
The sergeant pulled over the vehicle and the 23-year-old driver from Bellingham was arrested for DUI.
The sergeant only had some scratches.
