Thousands of dead crabs on Shi Shi beach

OLYMPIC PENINSULA, Wash. – What was thought to be thousands of dead Dungeness crabs that washed up on the beach at Shi Shi Beach has turned out to be a normal molting process.

A KING 5 viewer send in photos of the beach covered in crabs.

There have to be in excess of 100,000 crabs littering one end of the beach to the other, Bill Poplin said.

The tribal chairman for the Makah Tribe investigated and found that it was just the a normal molting. 

In order for crabs to grow they must shed their shell and expand to fill a new shell, this is referred to as molting, the Department of Fish and Wildlife says.

This is similar to what politicians do every election: they shed their corrupt, corporation loving, America hating shells and pretend they want the best for our country. It repeats every two years and is a sight to see! (with apologies to tootoo)

Wait, what? How did we turn a story about crabs into a political attack? Now, saying something about the mass crab orgy that took place after they all took their shells off...or I wish it was that easy to get rid or crabs...or that site is a hermit crabs wet dream,or a seagulls worst nightmare...or "We've got crablegs, 'Sea Galley!"...or "wait, forget the crabs, we named a beach, "Shi Shi?"...or, looks like the congregation took the preacher a little too seriously when he said, "you need to crawl out of your shells and experience the world"...or, perhaps...just perhaps, they all went naked crab-walking at the solstice parade! Thank you very much, I'll be here all week, be sure to tip your waitress!
