SEATTLE - Laura Smith has been decorating her Capitol Hill home for a decade.
"When you get between 700 to 1,000 kids, it's a big deal," she said.
And every year, the production gets a little bigger.
"From seven to nine, everyone's on the streets and the kids are running up and down, you'll get 10 to 20 coming up, it's amazing, so you decorate," she said.
Capitol Hill ranked No. 5 in the top five neighborhoods to trick-or-treat, according to Zillow.com.
"It's the ultimate holiday for this neighborhood," said Capitol Hill resident Dean Hove. "You have tons of kids, you have parents who love the kids, parents who decorate the houses who love scaring the kids."
The top four on the list: Wallingford, which Zillow says "offers the most bang-for-the-knock on Halloween night," Queen Anne, Magnolia and the University District.
Zillow says these neighborhoods provide the most candy with the least walking and a minimum of safety risks.
Zillow said while homeowners in high-end, iconic Seattle neighborhoods such as Windermere, Broadmoor, and Madison Park "may pass out a king-sized Snickers here and there, the homes are more spread out with long driveways and gates, thus not very conducive to kids traveling by foot."
