TACOMA, Wash. -- Tacoma police have a suspect in custody after a standoff at house in the 1500 block of S. 35th Street.
Tacoma police say the standoff started after the suspect was spotted by officers in the area, he is wanted on outstanding warrants and is a three strike candidate.
Police said the suspect went into a house and has refused to come out. There was a second person in the home for a short time, but that person has since come out voluntarily and without incident.
According to authorities, no weapon was seen, but the suspect has been known to have been armed and dangerous in the past.
Officers surrounded the house and worked with negotiators to get the suspect out for over 3 hours.
After 11 p.m. Tacoma Police say officers used distraction devices to help remove the suspect without any injures.
Neighbors were notified and asked to stay inside their homes during the incident.
