Tacoma bloodmobile offers beer to blood donors

Hummm! I am a regular donor and have been for many years as I have type AB and I always do the juice and the cookie. I've done the plasma draw too. I come home and always limit my activity but always enjoy that cold beer. The idea has some merit of drawing in more donors but what about those transients that really want that beer???,,,, that lie on the form, have Hepatitis A or B or worse AIDS even though all blood taken is supposed to be screened?? I just think that's asking for trouble. Almost the old organ for money thing. I'll still donate but, just say'n. Growler

That's funny. Everytime I go to a blood center (Either CBC or PSBC) to donate my blood, they look at me with the 'Why are you here?' kind of facial expressions. And even if they know my blood is super-healthy, they don't even call me to remind me I can donate my blood again.

Just like I mentioned earlier, everytime I go to the blood center, they treat me like some sort of freak. ( Downtown Tacoma has large gay population. Probably that's why, BUT I'M NOT GAY D@MN IT! Don't make my A&F clothes fool you! It's my wife's idea! ) They have my phone number, they said they'd call me whenever I can donate again (every 3 months), but they never did. So whenever I call them, they say I'm eligible. WTF! You know what? Cascade and Puget Sound Blood Centers, forget it! From now on, you won't get a drop of my blood! Go ahead! Keep getting blood from alcoholics after buying them free beer!

It's a single beer, wow. DUI.... Get real you guys. While it might entice a few homeless to participate you also open up access to alot of normal people that just dont take time off to go donate. If you read... you cant use the coupon until 4 hours after the blood drive has ended.

Stryker read the article correctly - it's one beer and can't be consumed until 4 hours after the drive. I've never donated blood, but might want to now. Go have a beer and network to find a job!

ok, let me set the record straight since I have donated blood in this promotion. The coupon you receive is pre-paid by the bloodcenter, thus its not free. Secondly, the coupon cannot be used until 4 hours after you donate. You can't donate blood and then immediately get the beer. Also, in most cases, the coupon is not valid until the next day.
