TACOMA, Wash. - Police have arrested a man who allegedly made threats to shoot officers.
According to police, the incident began as a domestic disturbance call in unincorporated Pierce County early Tuesday morning. The caller told police the man was headed to Tacoma and had said if police tried to get him he had an AK-47 rifle and would kill them.
Officers caught up with the suspect near Pearl Street and Sixth Avenue in Tacoma at around 4 a.m.
After a short car chase, police say the suspect bailed out of his vehicle and ran into a nearby apartment complex. Officers convinced him to surrender about an hour later.
Police say the suspect did not have a weapon.
