ROSLYN, Wash. -- Suncadia Resort is stuck in a winter no man's land.  Not enough snow for quality sledding or cross country skiing and too much for golfing.

The lack of snow has put a costly pinch of the resort.  Managers said they had to furlough some 150 workers who would normally be busy with the winter recreation crowds.

Managing Director Roger Beck said he hopes to bring most of them back when the snow falls. The winter drought is also cutting into profits in nearby Roslyn.

The cross country and snowmobile haven has a few die-hards passing through but it is far short of seasonal expectations.

Restaurant and Inn owner Jennifer Basterrechea said she has customers coming in for the Martin Luther King weekend but after that the books look as bleak as the snowless town streets.

The good news for both Roslyn and Suncadia is snow is expected over the weekend and next week.
And just in case, snow is already falling on Suncadia's popular sledding hill but it is the man-made kind.

Rush Limbaugh says the global warming doesn't exist, so this is clearly some kind of Liberal agenda.

It is Obama's global warming now. He owns it. Republicans will bring back normal weather patterns. Enough said.

"Suncadia is furloughing 150 employees, which economists say are indicators the economy is on its way to recovery.."
