Months after a massive fire destroyed a vacant Portland hotel, investigators have yet to determine a cause and are looking to the public for help.
The fire in the vacant Thunderbird Hotel on Sept. 2 caused $17 million in damage and destroyed five buildings of the complex, which had been fenced off and vacant since 2005.
There were no injuries or deaths as a result of the fire.
Investigators consider the fire suspicious and cannot rule out the possibility of arson.
The Portland Business Journal reports that a city permit report indicates the owner of the property, Thunderbird Inn LLC, intends to construct a $10.3 million, one story building on the property. The permit application is under review.
Crime Stoppers is offering a cash reward of up to $1,000 for information, reported to Crime Stoppers, that leads to an arrest in the case.
