SEATTLE - He's one of the quirky and funny stars of NBC's "The Office." But when he's off the set, Rainn Wilson gets serious and helps a Kirkland-based charity.
The Seattle-born actor came to town to raise money for the Mona Foundation, which helps women and children around the world.
Wilson recently returned from Haiti, where the foundation provides financial support to students and a school outside Port au Prince.
Wilson says the non-profit group is working in 15 different countries.
"It finds schools and orphanages and institutes that are already working, that are founded on a grassroots level in these different countries whether it's the Amazon, Panama, Tanzania or Haiti, then provides the financial support to grow in an organic way," he said.
