SEATTLE -- Some medical marijuana patients and law enforcement agree that the state needs clearer guidelines when it comes to Washington's medical marijuana law.
The website THClist.com was created by a man who is a medical marijuana patient. He does not want to reveal his name out of fear of backlash, but he says he quickly realized the state's law is vague and patients had no where to turn. He says he created an on-line resource guide to help people. He says his website, THClist.com, is expanding quickly
"It's turned into a monster. Basically it is growing a third every month. Right now we are averaging a million and a half hits a month," he said.
"We really have no problem whatsoever with a website like this advertising where to get medical marijuana. The citizens of the state of Washington have been really clear. They support medical marijuana and it's legal," said King County Sheriff's spokesman John Urquhart.
What some law enforcement and medical marijuana patients seem to agree on is the law is vague. That's why the recently formed Washington Cannabis Association plans on pressing for some changes in the upcoming legislative session.
The association is pushing to make it a legitimate business with sensible legal changes to help regulate the industry, and possibly provide some revenue to the state in terms of licensing fees.
