SEATTLE -- A Snohomish man pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide and reckless driving in an alcohol-related crash that killed a Google employee last summer.

King County prosecutors said Patrick Rexroat, 56, entered his pleas Thursday. He faces a maximum four years in prison at sentencing set for March 9.

County prosecutors said Rexroat was chasing another car and had a blood alcohol content of 0.29 percent last July 24 when his car collided with a car not involved in the chase, killing Steve Lacey of Kirkland.

Lacey was a 43-year-old father of two.

The legal intoxication threshold in Washington is 0.08 percent.

I will never understand the laws and how they seem to go easy on those who commit this kind of crime if I had a gun and shot someone and killed them and went to court and said my excuse is I did not load it with the bullets so I should not be held responsiable for shooting the person well does that not apply here with this guy new the laws about drinking and driving unless he got his license from another planet and did he not have the choice to make in putting the keys and starting the car no one forced him so why is he not being charged for murder and spending the rest of his life in prison (sadly taxpayers having to pay for it) it is a shame that people are put in jail for 5 to 10 shoplifting and killing someone is not the more serious crime my thoughts go out to the family and children who will no longer have him in there lives it is time laws bust these drunken idiots and first time offense of dui 10 years in prison and lose there license forever and never be aloud to drive again.
