Woman shot at her Shelton home on Wednesday dies

A mother of four who was shot when she answered the door of her Shelton home last Wednesday morning died Saturday.

The Mason County Sheriff's Office said the case is now a homicide investigation.

The name of the victim has not yet been released.

The shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. on Nov. 21 when the 30-year-old woman answered the door at her home on East Tyler Lane, according to Chief Deputy Dean Byrd.

When the woman opened the door, the suspects opened fire.

Another person was in the house and barricaded themselves in the back of the house when they heard the shots.

Deputies do not believe the shooting was random.
