A Shelton, Wash., mother who answered her door early Wednesday morning was shot by two men. Mason County Sheriff's deputies are looking for the shooters.
It happened around 3:30 a.m. when the 30-year-old answered the door at her home on East Tyler Lane, according to Chief Deputy Dean Byrd.
When the woman opened the door, the suspects opened fire.
Another person was in the house and barricaded themselves in the back of the house when they heard the shots.
The Sheriff's Office knows the victim and deputies do not believe the shooting was random.
It wasn't immediately known how many times the woman, a mother of four, was shot. She is in critical condition. Weather prevented an airlift to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, so she was transported to St. Peters Hospital in Olympia.
Sheriff’s deputies set up a perimeter and were using a K-9 in the search for the two men.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Mason County Sheriff's Office at 360-427-7761.
