PUYALLUP, Wash. -- A teen girl is suffering serious injuries after being struck in a hit-and-run accident in Puyallup.
Puyallup police say the girl, 16, was crossing in the crosswalk in the 600 block of West Stewart Avenue around 7:30 p.m. Thursday night when she was struck.
Video surveillance from the Golden Rule Grocery where the girl was inside before the collision shows a white color large sport utility vehicle, possibly similar to a Chevrolet Suburban or Tahoe, fleeing the scene eastbound on West Stewart Avenue.
The vehicle likely has damage to the right front of the vehicle as well as a possible dent on the hood of the vehicle.
The girl was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma where she is expected to survive.
