SEATTLE -- Police are searching for a suspect or suspects after a strange series of events that ended with a 19-year-old woman dead.
Police believe the teen was shot at the intersection of Highway 599 and International Boulevard in Tukwila, but she was found Thursday night in an SUV along Interstate 5 at Dearborn in Seattle, about eight miles away. The Cadillac was riddled with bullets and the teen had a gunshot wound to her head.
The driver of the SUV told police the woman had been shot in Tukwila. He said he was a friend and was driving her to Harborview Medical Center for medical care.
The teen was taken to Harborview where she died Friday morning from her injuries.
It's still unclear whether the SUV was pulled over by police or if the driver pulled over himself. After questioning the driver, police were still unclear where exactly the shooting took place, but suspected it happened at the Tukwila intersection. Police searched under the Highway 599 overpass and found shell casings. They have closed off the area for investigation.
One question police are trying to answer: Was this shooting random or did the victim know who pulled the trigger?
