SEATTLE - Seattle police are searching for three people in connection to a fatal shooting in the Greenwood neighborhood Sunday night.
The victim, identified as 54-year-old David Peterson, was killed near a shopping center at North 85th Street and First Avenue Northwest.
"My husband was the most loving person I've ever met," said Kimberly Peterson.
Peterson said the last time she saw her husband was when he left their home to go for his nightly walk.
Police said the victim called 911 to report that he had been robbed. When officers arrived, they discovered the victim had been shot. He died at the scene.
Police are looking for three people seen running away from the area. They were described as two black men and a white woman. Detectives believe the three people may have committed other robberies in the area just before the shooting.
Peterson and his wife, who works at the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, moved to Seattle from California a couple of years ago. Kimberly Peterson said her husband served in the military and was going back to school.
"He was always joking around trying to make people feel comfortable," said Peterson. "He was just a really good guy."
Anyone with any information about the robbery shooting is asked to call Seattle police.
