GRANITE FALLS, Wash. – A 59-year-old Seattle man who left Oct. 27 on a camping and hiking trip near the Mountain Loop Highway has not returned.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office says Gregory Keller went hiking somewhere near French Creek Trail, off the Mountain Loop Highway near Darrington. He was expected to return home Monday evening. When he didn't, his girlfriend called authorities.

Snohomish County Search and Rescue located the Keller's rental car in a remote area near the Boulder River, but have not found any signs of him.

A weather system is moving in that will bring wind and rain.

The Sheriff's Office said Keller did take camping equipment with him but he is said not to have overnight experience.

If you have any information you are asked to call the Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue at 425-388-3523.

Odd time of year for a inexperienced guy to hit the backcountry for a several night trip. Something doesn't add up here. Not so sure he went hiking.

This is why you don't go backpacking by yourself.
