SEATTLE – There may be no team to put in it, but the Seattle Arena process is moving forward.
Chris Hansen’s architects submitted new designs over the weekend, which include an LED board, and new plans for the exterior plaza of the building with rock formations called “drumlins.”
The designs were revealed as Hansen’s team prepares to answer questions at a public meeting this week on the project’s environmental review.
According to a spokesperson for the city of Seattle, that meeting, scheduled for Tuesday night, is for public comments on the environmental impacts of the alternatives examined in an impact statement. The design will be covered in the design review meeting next Tuesday the 17th.
No decisions will be made during Tuesday's public meeting.
Hansen still needs an NBA team to begin construction. His deal to purchase, and relocate the NBA’s Kings franchise, was rejected by NBA Owners in May.
