The six-time world champion Simon Fraser University in British Columbia (watch qualifying performance below) placed fourth in the competition, braving a heavy downpour during their performance.

The Field Marshal Montgomery band from Northern Ireland took the top spot for the the third-straight year.

The "Super Bowl" of pipe bands, which draws more than 30,000 spectators, drew 225 bands from 17 nations including Mexico, Sweden, Norway, Brazil and Zimbabwe.
