REDMOND, Wash. – A Redmond family who were among thousands of people who were victims of a Ticketmaster mistake will be able to attend President Barack Obama’s inaugural ball Monday.
Tickets accidentally went on sale a day before they were supposed to and Sharon Ilstrup of Redmond was disappointed when she was not able to get tickets.
“I was really shocked and really angry. It was something we were excited about. I was very, very disappointed," she told KING 5 News
But Ilstrup says Washington Sen. Patty Murray saw the KING 5 News story about the mix-up and arranged for tickets for Ilstrup and her family.
"We walked over to Patty Murray's office right away to get our tickets. Everyone in the office was so excited!" she said.
The family will also be attending the President’s Inauguration and the parade on the mall. They secured those tickets through Washington state representatives.
