KIRKLAND, Wash. – The charity of a 9-year-old girl killed in a multi-car collision on Intersatate 90 last month passed a major milestone Friday, raising over $1 million to pay for clean water for children in faraway lands.
After hearing about Rachel Beckwith's selfless birthday wish to help kids she didn't even know, people all over the world visited CharityWater.org to donate to her cause.
Thursday afternoon, Rachel's site had raised just over $900,000. But it suddenly got a big boost and, in less than 24 hours, surpassed the $1 million mark at around 9:30 a.m. Friday
