About 6,400 Seattle City Light customers in the Eastlake and Capitol Hill neighbors were without power Monday morning after a tree fell onto some power lines, triggering multiple power outages.
The first outage happened around 5:30 a.m. and affected about 3,750 customers.
Crews responded and rerouted power in attempted to restore service. However, once the electricity was swiched to a different circuit, the circuit equipment failed, bumping up the number of affected customers to about 6,400.
Crews on site said a distribution wire had failed. Power was restored around 1:15 p.m.
West Seattle also experienced a power outage around 5:30 a.m., affecting about 4,000. Power was restored in West Seattle around 8:30 a.m.
