SEATTLE - The U.S. Postal Service says they are hiring temporary employees to work in the greater Puget Sound area during the upcoming holiday mailing season.

Mail handler positions are available at the following locations:

  • Seattle Christmas Facility near Sea-Tac Airport;
  • Priority Mail Annex in Kent;
  • Network Distribution Center in Federal Way,
  • At the processing and distribution facilities in Everett, Tacoma and Olympia.

The non-career positions pay $11 an hour and there are no benefits. Number of hours worked will depend on mail volume.

USPS says there are also some temporary Tractor-Trailer Operator and Motor Vehicle Operator positions available at the Seattle Processing & Distribution Center.  Applicants must have a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License. The pay ranges between $19 and $21.50 an hour.  The positions may extend beyond the holiday mailing period.

To apply, visit www.usps.com.  Go to the bottom of the page and click on "Rewarding Opportunities."  On the right hand side click on "Search Jobs Online."  Under "Location" select Washington.  Leave "ZIP Code" and "Functional Area" blank and click on "Start."  Find a position that you want to apply for and click "Apply."
