A Port Orchard high school girl is fighting for her life after being struck by a car earlier this morning.
Kitsap County Sheriff's deputy Scott Wilson said the girl was walking to her bus stop on Jackson Avenue S.E. when the accident occurred.
The girl was crossing Jackson Avenue when a she was struck by a car heading northbound.
She was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with critical injuries, Wilson said.
The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with authorities.

Jackson Avenue S.E. is closed at Lund Street as authorities continue to investigate the accident.
