MARYSVILLE, Wash. – Police say tips from the public led investigators to recover two young boys Tuesday who were taken by their mother in Marysville over the weekend.

Marysville police say Malakai Miller, 3, and Makai Miller, 2, were found in South Everett are now in police custody.

Their mother, Tara Anderson-Miller, left the area before police arrived. Police say she took the boys Sunday from their grandmother’s home. The Department of Social and Health Services put the boys in their grandmother's custody in April.

Police say Anderson-Miller is homeless and has drug dependency issues. She was recently released from the Snohomish County Jail. Anderson-Miller was staying with the boys' grandmother for a few days to visit them.

Any other information that may be helpful to police are asked to call detective Craig Bartl at 360-363-8350.
