Carolyn Piksa pleaded not guilty to assault charges at an arraignment at the King County Courthouse Monday morning.
Well-known defense attorney John Henry Browne is representing Piksa. Browne also is the lawyer for Sgt. Robert Bales and "Barefoot Bandit" Colton Harris-Moore.
Piksa, 46, is accused of shooting and wounding co-worker Bill Keller earlier this month.
The Seattle Parks and Recreation employee is charged with assault in the first degree for the alleged shooting and wounding of a co-worker on March 9th, as well as assault in the second degree for supposedly threatening another coworker with a gun.
She is being held in jail on $1 million bail.
Browne said his team's priority is getting a mental health evaluation for Piksa.
