CASCADE LOCKS, Ore. – A driver was killed after falling out of a moving van while fighting with his girlfriend Saturday on Interstate 84 near Cascade Locks, police said.
Just after 9 p.m., the 31-year-old driver allegedly began a physical altercation with his girlfriend who was in the passenger seat when the van headed into oncoming lanes and hit a guardrail, said Lt. Gregg Hastings with Oregon State Police.
The driver was reportedly not wearing a seat belt and fell out of the moving van through the driver’s side door. He was pronounced dead at the scene, Hastings said.
The woman and another passenger were taken to the hospital, but were not injured from the crash. The woman reportedly had minor injuries from the fight with the driver.
All lanes of I-84 were reopened five hours after the crash.
