One teen dead, two critically injured in Arlington-area crash

ARLINGTON, Wash. – One teen is dead and two were critically injured in a rollover accident near Arlington on Sunday afternoon.

The Snohomish County Sheriff's Office says the single-car accident occurred in the 28200 block of 15th Ave. NE at about 2 p.m.

Detectives believe the 1990s Acura sedan was traveling more than 85 mph as it headed south along 15th Ave. The speed limit is 35 mph along that stretch of road.

A 19-year-old Arlington man, who was driving the car, died at the scene. A 19-year-old passenger, also from Arlington, is in serious condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. A 17-year-old passenger, from Camano Island, is in critical condition at Harborview.

Two 15-year-old female passengers were taken to local hospitals with serious injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
