SEATTLE - A man was shot and killed shortly after 9 p.m. Friday in downtown Seattle in the intersection of 9th & Columbia next to St. James Cathedral.

Max Gasoi, 21, was found lying next to a black Nissan Maxima.

Witnesses said they heard three gunshots.

Gasoi's mother, Jody Meyers, said he had left her home about an hour before.

She said he had big dreams of becoming a recording artist.

"He was the best person in my life," she said. "I wasn't done being his mom."

Police are still searching for a suspect.

A story about a mother greiving for her son should not be a place to make comments about comments....but with the "new" NWCN turning off comment pages at their liesure you have to take it when you can get it. I don't like it at all. I agree, if the webmaster doesn't like a comment, delete it. But let the people talk.

Besides, I still miss the old NWCN.COM which allowed free commenting with thumbs up and thumbs down. I'm sure NWCN.COM lost a lot of readers to other websites since the change. I know that's bad for NWCN. I also know that's bad for the advertisers.

HA! I'm amazed at commenting is allowed for this story. NWCN.com usually turns off commenting which has to do with someone's death. I've found it pain in the ***. Many NWCN.com lovers now are haters because of that. That's why I'm commenting at KOMO.com a lot more than NWCN.com these days. Don't turn off commenting. Give everybody a chance to comment. If you (administrator) don't like the comment, then delete it.
