Marysville Police arrest driver in fatal pedestrian accident

MARYSVILLE, Wash. - Marysville Police have arrested a driver that struck and killed a man walking along Smokey Point Boulevard.

The accident happened just after 2 a.m. Saturday.

Police say the victim is a 26-year-old Arlington man, but they have not identified him.

Officers say the driver had a blood alcohol level of more than twice the legal limit.

The 34-year-old Marysville man was arrested and booked on investigation of vehicular homicide in the Snohomish County Jail.

The driver will get off with a slap on the wrist...just like they all do in this state.

Hmmm... More than likely, this will end up being another situation where "The Punishment Does Not Fit The Crime." Any person convicted of vehicular homicide while driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, should get a sentence choice: Death within 100 days of sentencing; or, life in prison at hard labor, without the possibility of parole. That type of sentencing might act as a deterrent.

Great...another drunk out killing people. And in Marysville no less...the land of drunk drivers it seems lately. Don't go out after dark folks. That's all I can say.
