SAFECO FIELD -- What  took more than four months of planning and hours of set up will be over in 15 minutes.  But boy, will it be cool!

For the first time, the Mariners will fill the sky above and spaces within Safeco Field with fireworks after Friday's Mariners-Cubs game.  Some 1,200 to 1,500 charges will be launched and choreographed to music.

Pyro Spectaculars is producing the show.  Show Producer Jon Berson, a veteran of fireworks displays at Lake Union and around the world, admits to a slight case of nerves since Safeco Field would be a new venue.

"You hope you get it right," he laughs. "And hopefully give the fans a great show!"
