Seattle Police say a man suffered serious bite wounds in an assault and robbery in the “Jungle,” the wooded area along the west side of Beacon Hill.
Police say just before 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, two men walked to the Metro Transit base at Airport Way S. and S. Atlantic Street, and reported that they’d been attacked in the nearby woods.
The victim and his friend told police that two suspects, both Hispanic men, had approached them under I-5, and hit the victim in the head with a rock.
During the attack, one of the suspects bit off part of the victim’s lower lip, and also bit the victim on his neck.
The suspects then took the victim’s wallet and watch and rode away on a bicycle.
The victim was taken to Harborview for treatment. His friend, who wasn’t injured in the incident, told officers he had seen the suspects in the Jungle several weeks earlier, but didn’t know the men.
