BELLINGHAM, Wash, - In Bellingham's Sehome neighborhood, only a few blocks from Western Washington University, people are almost oblivious to late night parties and noises.

Just after 11 p.m. Friday, neighbor Glacia Rain did hear some shouting that caught her attention.

"I couldn't hear what they were saying or anything," said Rain. "Just that people were outside making noise."

Though she didn't hear it, about the same time, other neighbors called 911 saying they heard gunfire.

When police arrived, they found 42-year old Bryan Marriott shot in the chest in the area of East Ivy Street and North Garden Street. He collapsed in front of Rain's home. His car was still in the street, idling. The emergency brake had been set and the driver's side door was open. Witnesses say right after they heard the gunfire, a dark colored car went speeding down the road.

Police say, among other motives, they're looking into the possibility this is a case of road rage.

"It seems like somebody would have to had to seen something," said Rain.

If there is witnesses, police want to find them. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Sergeant Mike Johnston at (360)778-8687.

Huh. I never knew the neighborhood beneath the Viking Union or north of the campus was considered Sehome. When I was in school, it was at the exact opposite end of campus. Like...where Sehome high school is! How times change.

The problem today is you do not know what will make someone mad. It could be something as simple as stopping for a red lite.

So sad it had to end so badly. People have short fuses these days, economy, being lied to constantly by the TV mindcontrol, who knows what set the perp off if indeed it was a case of RR. Many suspect a bad drug deal,,,,The TV and films of today glorify death and the power of the will much more than promoting a healthy respect for all things. And the video games are worse. Yes, there are a LOT of crappy drivers in Bham however they are out EVERY DAY! But it is never cool to blast someone cause they cut you off. When this punk is caught he will do some time. Not worth it is correct. WHo knows who started it, but a shooting was not justified. Save that for when the NWO wants to take you from your ride to a camp for refusing their bioweapon vaccine/s.

The main problem with all the violence is that many parents are not teaching their children how to deal with conflict. They hear their parents yelling at someone for cutting them off, raging about this or that intead of showing them how to take the high road. They also are not teaching them the value of a human life. People seem to think with their fists instead of the part of the brain that controls reasoning. I tell my son if someone is bothering him to turn and walk away. It's not worth getting in trouble or killed for petty reasons.
