SEDRO WOOLLEY, Wash. – A man was killed in an accident involving a dump truck Tuesday morning.
The Washington State Patrol says at about 8 a.m., a truck was pulling a large dump trailer loaded with trees and brush on a logging road north of Sedro Woolley.
The truck rolled onto its left side while attempting to negotiate a downhill corner.
The man was standing on the left running board, outside of the truck, when he was pinned underneath the truck after it rolled. He died at the scene.
Trooper Keith Leary said he was told the reason the man was standing on the running board was so he could see how the driver was negotiating corners with the trailer. Leary said it's believed the deceased man may not have been familiar with this particular logging road. His truck - identical to the one that rolled over - was parked further down the hill.
The accident is still under investigation.
