SEATTLE - Don't get too comfortable with the warm temperatures we've been experiencing in the Northwest. One of the coldest air masses to reach the area in weeks is expected to move in this week. And that could mean a sprinkling of snow in some areas.
KING 5 forecaster Lisa Van Cise says high temperatures will be in the mid- to upper 40s, with snow levels dropping to around 1,000 feet on Monday night and even lower Tuesday.
A convergence zone could develop Monday night into Tuesday, which could mean light snowfall for some areas.
"I think the best shot to see anything in the way of lowland snow will be right along the Kitsap Peninsula and along Hood Canal, potentially on the higher hills north of Everett," said Van Cise.
The Portland-Vancouver area will see some rain, hail and a snow level down to about 1,000 feet.
A couple of inches of snow is expected in the Cascades.
The cold front is expected to move out by Friday.
