LACEY, Wash. – Three people were shot inside a Lacey home Monday, killing a 23-year-old man.

Lacey Police Commander Jim Mack said the suspect is still at large. Officers are looking for a person of interest as well.

The victim was identified only as a 23-year-old Lacey man. His name has not been released.

The shooting happened around 10:30 a.m. in the 5900 block of Daniel Loop SE. Mack said it appears to have stemmed from an argument inside the home.

The two victims who survived the shooting were able to give police some information about the person of interest, possibly a nickname or initials. A photo is expected to be released to the public.

Dozens of police, SWAT and canines, swarmed the neighborhood where the shooting happened, taking two men into custody. SWAT officers acted after reports of a suspect in a dark hoodie jumping over fences and running through backyards in the area. Officers later said those men were not involved in the shooting, but were apparently at the home where the crime took place earlier in the morning.

Police say they may be responsible for other crimes, but not the shooting. The two men remain in police custody.

Police have not given a motive for the shooting.

Eight schools were put into lockdown as a precaution: Chambers Prairie, Horizons, Lakes, Mountain View, Woodland elementary schools, Aspire and Komachin Middle School and Timberline High School.
