SEATTLE -- After hearing from victims of domestic violence, King County Council members decided Wednesday to restore spending plans for programs that help protect women and children.

Council members decided to restore nearly $1.4 million to fund programs at 2009 levels for prevention of domestic violence and sexual assault and for legal aid programs that help victims obtain restraining orders.

The budget will be released Thursday and is set to be adopted Monday by the full council.

Good, this is a very important program. There is so much abuse going on these days without these funds so many children would be at risk. Hopefully with this funding they can get away from the abuse and start new lives. Thank you.
