KENT, Wash. – Two Kent families have been left homeless after an early morning, two-alarm fire in Kent.

The fire in the 23600 block of 30 Ave. S. destroyed two mobile homes.

When firefighters from Kent and SeaTac arrived at the scene, one mobile home was already fully engulfed in flames and a second was burning due to winds and close proximity.

All the occupants were able to escape from the fires, but several were treated at local hospitals for smoke inhalation.

A total of eight adults and six children have been displaced. Red Cross is assisting the two families.
Fire crews were able to contain the fires and keep them from spreading to other homes.

Both mobile homes are a total loss.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fires.
