SEATTLE, Wash. - Longtime Seattle radio personality Bob Rivers has done his last show at KZOK. Rivers is out of a job because he could not reach a contract deal with CBS, the owner of the station.
River has worked at KZOK for ten years, and has been in the morning drive slot in Seattle radio for 21 years.
"It's a privilege for me to work with great people, and I'm even including the people who unfortunately we're not going to be working with tomorrow," Rivers told KING 5. "We have a great relationship with people and they put their faith in us, and it just kills me not to be there in the morning."
Rivers has a six-month non-compete clause in his contract, so the earliest you might hear him back on the air in Seattle is next April.
He is continuing to do gigs with his band 'Spike and the Impalers' and said the group is ready to play at just about any event.
"I'm going to also just take some time off, relax, evaluate things, and then we'll re-emerge," said Rivers.
