How long should a customer be allowed to use free WiFi at Starbucks?
SEATTLE – How long is too long to use the free WiFi at Starbucks?
A new 60 Minutes / Vanity Fair poll finds 32 percent of Americans think that someone who has purchased a drink at Starbucks should be able to use the WiFi access as long as they want.
Twenty-six percent say cut it off at 30 minutes and 12 percent say the limit should be 60 minutes. 18 percent say it should only be used while the customer is drinking the beverage, so drink really slow if you want to milk it.
Eleven percent didn’t know the answer.
It’s been reported in recent months that some coffee shops across the country, not just Starbucks, have been placing restrictions on how long so-called laptop squatters can hang around to use the WiFi.
