LACEY, Wash. - Police officers fatally wounded a man sought in a killing near Lacey that officers said apparently started with an argument over an iPod.

Officers said Saturday that John Chinh Vu was shot by police and rushed to a hospital.

Lt. Chris Mealy with the Thurston County Sheriff's Department said Vu died just after 8 p.m. at St. Peter Hospital in Olympia.

Sheriff's deputies responding to a report of gunfire Thursday night found a man in the street who had been shot in the back.

The victim's family says 21-year-old David Mapu was trying to run away from the fight.

That just goes to show that Apple products are the BEST! (especially PowerMac G5 & MiniMac computers) You never hear about people getting shot over Microsoft products. In fact, back when Windows 95 came out, there were a lot of people that wanted to shoot Bill Gates in the face! People are willing to die for iPods, but people only want to kill the makers of Microsoft junk.

Not the first time I've heard that happen. Such a shame for the victim but I hate hearing people get killed over the stupidest things.

Two deaths over an iPod? There has to be more to it than that! That is just truly rediculous/senseless.

It often helps the "Monday morning quarterback" crime analysts when the picture is framed under the words "Lacey Shooting Suspect"...

yeah, my thoughts exactly brewster. I've seen people who have that same "mean" look and turns out they're depressed or sad, or scared. You cannot read a persons heart or mind by their looks alone. A lot of so-called innocent looking people commit horrendous crimes.

datruth and bigmeanie, you should get a job in law enforcement. You guys can spot a criminal by his looks, let us arrest them before they kill anyone. With your help there will be no more crime!

All the hardcore criminals share similar looking eyes - ignorant, unstable, and angry.
