BURIEN, Wash. – A Burien family got a surprise when something unexpectedly fell from the sky and into their backyard.

They found a pair of bald eagles tangled together in a fight for their lives and they lay that way for more than 2 hours.

Gary Hallock didn't know what to do. He called around and finally reached Sarvey Wildlife Center in Arlington.

A wildlife tech came out and separated the birds.

Gary says it's something he'll never forget.

One eagle flew away, the other is now recovering at the center and will be released back into the wild.

The eagles were likely fighting over food, territory or breeding.

Sarvey Wildlife Center didn't allow the dog to approach. If you look closer you see the owner taking the dog away. Sarvey Wildlife is an awesome resource with very caring and knowledgeable people. They do not need this sort of criticism. In addition, they are a non-profit organization. Please consider donating funds to them to continue their great care of our wildlife.

Why did the Sarvey Wildlife Center allow a dog to approach the wounded eagle?
